Ashland, OR -- (ReleaseWire) -- 03/06/2018 -- KSKQ an independent, non-commercial radio station has launched its Crowdfunding Campaign.

Support positive change for ourselves, our Bioregion, our Country & The Planet by contributing to our campaign. Here is the link to our Crowdfunding Campaign: http://www.youcaring.com/kskqfunding.

For 13 years, KSKQ has stood as an all-volunteer alternative voice to corporate-controlled media. In this day and age of "fake news," independent media is becoming a scarcer and more valuable commodity. As Amy Goodman of "Democracy Now" states, "The airwaves are a public good. KSKQ was created to give the airwaves back to the People." KSKQ was created to give the airwaves back to the People. It is the voice of the People throughout Southern Oregon at 89.5 FM and 94.1 FM. We stream the voice of the People to the world through our website, http://www.kskq.org/.

KSKQ is a true Community Radio Station. Since our inception, we have provided free media access to numerous local and state campaigns such as Healthcare for All, labor and social justice causes, Oregon's legalized recreational cannabis law, and the non-GMO ordinance passed in Jackson County in 2014. .KSKQ broadcasts live from the weekly Ashland Growers and Crafters Market. Social justice organizations are able to get their messages out through interviews and even their own shows.

KSKQ serves our community with a variety of locally-produced interview and talk shows. Listen and learn about wine, animal rights, the Oregon Shakespeare Festival weekly Green Shows, sustainable farming, healthy eating, meditation, Honey Bee care and culture, women's issues, the positive side of growing older and more! We also provide a range of syndicated alternative offerings that inspire, stimulate and call our listeners to action in their own communities. It should be noted that KSKQ was the first to bring the vanguard news program, "Democracy Now," to the Rogue Valley of Southern Oregon.

Listeners of all ages and backgrounds enjoy KSKQ's rich eclectic selection of music genres: Jazz, Reggae, Rock 'n Roll, Folk, Classical, Latin, African, Pop, Punk, Blues, Cowboy, Metal, World, computer game themes and more! The nationally famous Church of Rock with Rev. Derek Moody originates from KSKQ.

Our Crowdfunding Campaign ensures that KSKQ will continue to support a more informed and democratically engaged citizenry.

We need to raise $80,000. It's time for KSKQ to take the next logical step towards meeting our mission and to assure sustainability—to hire an Executive Director. The station needs a skilled leader who can focus solely on maintaining and strengthening the station by developing our fledgling news department, building community connections and finding creative and bountiful financial support. This person will effectively organize KSKQ's diverse team of volunteers.

The Crowdfunding Campaign launched on March 1st. It can be accessed at this link: http://www.youcaring.com/kskqfunding. We urge all people who are passionate about independent, non-commercial radio which gives the airwaves back to the People to support KSKQ's Crowdfunding Campaign.
