Now Seeking Community Support via Kickstarter, Rainbow Quest! is a Game like No Other & It is designed for All Ages, Genders & Orientations!
Augusta, ME -- (SBWIRE) -- 06/27/2019 -- Rainbow Quest is an all-new tabletop game, which is being launched as the best school curriculum resource for LGBTQ culture and history. The game is not only educating, engaging and affirming but also offers a lot of laugh-out-loud fun. Moreover, this all-new game is designed for players of all age groups, sexual orientations, and genders. It has been described as a 'power tool' for preventing LGBTQIA suicide, which in a recent study reported that LGBTQIA youth are five times more likely to attempt suicide compared with the general population. With Rainbow Quest!, just play. It gets better. It's that simple.
At a time where there is a resurgence in the popularity of board games, Rainbow Quest! Is unique in offering a singular gaming experience where players get the rare chance to play the role of --- themselves. And their special powers? Authenticity. Opportunities to be our authentic selves are scarce, but Rainbow Quest! creates a safe and affirming space for all to dare to be themselves. Though the game begins with the "easy to learn roll and advance game mechanics," to win the game the player who reaches the 'better, rainbow world' must succeed at a challenge selected by the other players, who may choose to be as competitive or as collaborative as they desire.
"Rainbow Quest is one sturdy, colorful bi-fold game board that includes 8 colorful pawns, 2 transparent purple dice, a 90-second sand timer, 8 pencils, 8 note pads, set of rules, quick start guides and much more," said Brian J. Kaufman, a former GLSEN (Gay Lesbian Education Network) chapter leader, while introducing this game to the Kickstarter community." Brian has a Ph.D. in Psychology with a focus on group dynamics and is a seasoned LGBTQIA professor and community activist."We include two dice so players can enjoy a leisurely or faster game depending on how much time is available, making it great for hour-or less in-service diversity training. Gay-Straight Alliances, or support groups. For leisurely play allowing for more discussion, the smaller die is recommended. Kaufman co-created this game alongside his husband Martin Swinger, who is an artist and a teacher.
Both Brian and Marin are the creators of this game and they have recently launched a crowdfunding campaign on Kickstarter to raise funds and support for this project, and they are welcoming generous support and backing. Moreover, the goal of this recently launched Kickstarter campaign is to raise a sum of $50,000.
